Bertrand Chaffee Hospital Imaging Department approved by the ACR for CT accreditation which is good for three years.

Bertrand Chaffee Hospital has, once again, been awarded a three year term of accreditation in Computerized Topography (CT) as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR)

The ACR awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards.  Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field.  They assess the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of the facility equipment.

ACR accreditation sites provide a high level of confidence for patients, referring physicians, and managed care organizations that only the highest quality care is being provided.

“We are very excited that we have been awarded this accreditation again and stress that this recognition is not easy to receive” says Lisa Smith, Manager of Imaging Services at Bertrand Chaffee.  The hospital is also accredited in Digital Mammography and MRI.  If you would like more information on this accreditation or to schedule an appointment, call the Imaging Department at 716 592-8169.

Bertrand Chaffee Hospital Earns ACR Accreditation for MRI

Bertrand Chaffee Hospital has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). MRI is a noninvasive medical test that utilizes magnetic fields to produce anatomical images of internal body parts to help physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.

The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Image quality, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs are assessed. The findings are reported to the ACR Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report they can use for continuous practice improvement.

The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 34,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
