PCP stands for Primary Care Physician. This is the physician dedicated to providing both the first contact care for a person with an undiagnosed health concern as well as continuing care of varied medical conditions.
Your primary care provider is the person you will see for most routine problems, but there are some exceptions where you may need to see a different clinician. For instance, PAP smears are done by our physician assistant only.
This can happen under certain circumstances. If you do need to be seen, you may see the other clinician(s).
Bertrand Chaffee Primary Care Center has a call center set up for times when the office is closed. Your first option should be to call that number and get help with what your best course of actions is. Bertrand Chaffee Hospital has an emergency room and should you have an emergency you should go directly to the ER or dial 911.
