BCH Women's Association

2014 installation dinner at the Apple Dumplin'

The Bertrand Chaffee Hospital Women’s Association has a decades-long tradition of supporting the work of Bertrand Chaffee Hospital and the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home. This dedicated group of individuals coordinates events throughout the year to raise funds for hospital and nursing home equipment and improvements.

Each fall, they hold a fashion show that features styles and accessories from local businesses. In 2014, maurices, Dress Barn, Sheret Jewelers and Springville Eye Care participated. The group has also put on theme basket auctions, baked good sales and hot dog roasts, all to benefit BCH and JBR.

Each weekday, volunteers from the Women’s Association staff the hospital’s gift shop, located on the first floor. These volunteers handle the purchasing and management of the shop, which offers visitors, patients, employees and guests a wide selection of home décor, snacks, accessories, toys and other gift items. The Women’s Association meets monthly, and most meetings have an activity or educational program for its members. New members are welcome.

For more information about the Women’s Association, please contact Karen Ritenour, president, at, or call (716) 592-2871 ext. 1485.

Kathy Prenderghast, a licensed occupational therapist and massage therapist, presented to the BCH Women's Association meeting in March 2015 on the importance of good posture. She also provided some mini-massages to the association members.

Most months, this organization offers educational programs for its members during their meetings.
