Updated 1/28/2021

Bertrand Chaffee Hospital will resume elective surgical procedures, effective Monday, February 1, 2021. BCH’s resumption of elective surgeries is in accordance with the Governor issued directive on Monday, January 25.

Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, following guidance from the NYS Department of Health, pre-screens and tests all surgical patients for COVID-19 prior to their scheduled procedure and follows special protocol put in to place to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.

“On behalf of the BCH Surgical Team, we are grateful for Governor Cuomo’s announcement and the go-ahead to resume elective surgery in Erie County and on the BCH campus” said Nils Gunnersen, Bertrand Chaffee Hospital CEO. “The health and safety of our patients and community is our number one priority and we know the permission to resume these procedures is of utmost importance.”
